Let’s Make Noise

Our strategy 2027–2029

Louder. Further. Together.

Our three-year strategy sets out how Let’s Make Noise will consolidate its achievements, broaden its reach and establish a national presence, so that significantly more children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) can access inclusive, life-enhancing opportunities.

Strategic context

Demand is growing. So is our ambition.

Since our registration with the Charity Commission, demand for our programmes has consistently exceeded our capacity. Parents and carers from across the United Kingdom have contacted us seeking to participate, and our programmes are eagerly anticipated by children, young people and families alike.

At the same time, we recognise that many children and young people with SEND remain unreached. Some families face practical, financial, linguistic or cultural barriers; others are simply unaware of the inclusive opportunities available. Too many children consequently miss out on activities that foster communication, friendship and independence.

This strategy responds directly to that need. It commits us to sustaining the quality of our existing programmes, to proactively engaging families who are not yet involved, and to extending our model beyond London.

Strategic priorities

Five priorities for the next three years.

1. Reach and engagement

Proactively identify and engage families of children with SEND who are not currently accessing activities, through targeted outreach with schools, SENCOs, health professionals, local authorities, faith and community organisations, and multilingual communications.

2. Programme excellence

Sustain and enhance the quality of speech and language therapy, the Life Skills Initiative, fun days out and the Let’s Make Noise Cup, while piloting new, innovative and person-centred projects shaped by the voices of young people and their families.

3. Organisational capacity

Expand our staff and volunteer team, relocate to larger premises able to host a greater volume of sessions, and strengthen our governance, safeguarding and operational infrastructure to support sustainable growth.

4. National expansion

Replicate our proven model beyond London by establishing regional hubs in the Midlands (Birmingham) and the North East (Newcastle), working in partnership with local organisations and communities.

5. Partnerships and sustainability

Diversify our income through trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, sponsorship, community fundraising and statutory commissioning, ensuring our services remain free of charge at the point of access.

Our three-year plan

From London to a national presence.

Year one · 2027

Strengthen our foundations

London

  • Secure larger office premises to accommodate our growing programme
  • Recruit additional staff, including programme and outreach roles
  • Launch a structured outreach programme targeting under-engaged families
  • Increase the frequency and capacity of existing programmes
  • Implement a robust impact measurement and evaluation framework

Year two · 2028

Expand into the Midlands

Birmingham

  • Establish a Midlands office and recruit a regional team
  • Build partnerships with local schools, authorities and community groups
  • Pilot speech and language therapy, life skills and fun days out in Birmingham
  • Introduce a regional qualifying stage for the Let’s Make Noise Cup

Year three · 2029

Establish a northern presence

Newcastle

  • Open a northern office in Newcastle to serve families across the North East
  • Deliver our full programme model across three regions
  • Develop a national Let’s Make Noise Cup bringing regional champions together
  • Publish an independent evaluation of our outcomes and national impact

Measuring success

How we will know we are succeeding.

Progress against this strategy will be monitored by our Board of Trustees and reported transparently. Our key performance indicators will include:

  • The number of children, young people and families supported in each region
  • The proportion of participants from previously under-engaged families
  • Measurable progress in communication, confidence and independence
  • Progression into further education, training, volunteering or employment
  • Family wellbeing and satisfaction with our programmes
  • Growth and diversification of our funding base

Be part of our growth

Help us reach every child.

We are seeking funders, corporate partners, employers and volunteers who share our ambition. If you would like to support our expansion in London, the Midlands or the North East, we would welcome a conversation.
